Town of Killam – Secretary-Treasurer 1977 – 1979
Town of Turner Valley – Town Manager 1979 – 1984 (thought I would retire when first child born in 1984, we moved to Edmonton area)
Town of Bruderheim – Town Manager 1984 – 1986 (this was a temporary position until second child born in 1986 – moved back to Calgary area)
Summer Village of Waiparous – Municipal Administrator 1988 – 2018
Summer Village of Burnstick Lake 1992 - 2003 – Chief Administrative Officer (also assisted Municipal Affairs Official Administrator with setting up the municipality)
Summer Village of Ghost Lake – 2002 – present - Chief Administrative Officer (will be retiring in August)
I have also maintained my company Municipal Administrative Systems since 1986 offering assistance to small municipalities on an as needed basis. Some of my work has included: Training New CAO Village of Cayley Acting as Interim Financial Manager – Town of Taber, Town of Turner Valley, Town of Vulcan, Serving as Interim CAO – Town of Vulcan, Town of Turner Valley, Perform Year end financial reporting for audit (when there is no financial officer) Town of High River, Town of Okotoks, Town of Turner Valley, Undertake Special Projects (while no CAO – Town of Nanton), Training staff with municipal financial work– Town of Nanton, Village of Cayley, Town of Vulcan, Village of Longview, Serve as Financial Officer, Town of Okotoks, Calgary Regional Partnership, Assist software companies with design of canned financial reports for small municipalities, also helped small munis set up and enhance their financial software.

ASVA McIntosh Bulrush Award Winner - Pat and Wayne Deschamps - SV of Parkland Beach

Pat and Wayne Deschamps - SV of Parkland Beach
For over 10 years Wayne and Pat Deschamps have ably led the annual reserve cleanup which includes promoting the event months in advance, creating awareness of the need; surveys the areas that require the most attention; prepares a plan and priorities, secures the commitment from individuals and local companies for manpower and equipment, arrange for meals for the volunteers, and coordinates this with the SV office for assistance.

The McIntosh Bulrush Award is presented to an Individual or Organization that exemplifies lake stewardship activities.
Use of personal time to improve:
